Trend #8 - HANDMADE & HAND-DYEING

Traditional techniques in fabric staining and dyeing using natural plant dyes are a major trend this year. You will see this technique used on fabrics for cushions, rugs, curtains and throws. There is a high appreciation for traditionl hand-dyeing, especially as the world is looking to Africa and focussing on their craftsman.

I love that I live in Africa! There is no other continent with a soul like hers! It's no wonder why the world is looking to this beautiful place for design inspiration.

New Year means fresh new trends to look forward to in the design world. I've compiled a list of my top 10 trends for 2014 to share with you lovelies over the next few posts.

First up;

 Trend #1 - MONOCHROME

The graphic black and white drama of a monochrome palette is great to use somewhere unexpected like a kids room/nursery. Break away from the traditional blue or pink colour palette and create a classic and timeless vibe with monochrome:
