Travelling Mama. . .

This past weekend, i headed up to Joburg to vist my sister, toddler in tow! I was very nervy as this was Rylee's (13 months) first time on a plane! Needless to say he slept the entire trip there and was as good as gold!

Whilst in Jozi i came across some awesome stores. . .

Big Blue is one of those fantastic stores which us Durbanites are not fortunate to have on our doorstep. (Joburg & Cape-Town only)
It's a real "local is lekker" store which is awesome. Check out this cute shirt i got for Rylee. . .
Another Joburg treasure is 4th Avenue, Parkhurst. I love love love this street! Its lined with great restaurants, cafes, decor, kids and vintage stores, and the list goes on.
I came across this cute kids store, Polka Dot

They do kids parties, decor, clothing, arts & crafts etc. I love the fun shop front!

Further down the road was Life Unplugged. . .

A really fab store filled with all types of quirky & interesting decor items. A real treasure.

The Windmill is a sweet little store, where you can get your hands on a Lou Harvey handbag or a great nik nak or two. . .

AND THEN. . . .i found . . .

Wow, what a shop. They are a group of graphic designers who own their very own laser cutting machine, and the products they design and sell are stunning!
I bought this cute placemat for Rylee. . .

and a lovely little note book which has "i dream in full color" on the cover. . .
and this cool locally made bag. . .

If you appreciate & love design like i do, please go and check out their website http://www.greengrassdesign.co.za/
How fantastic is their "munchy monster" side table . . .

It's made of perspex and layers of cardboard with the corrugated edges exposed on the sides and top. Awesome!

So all and all i had a great little weekend in Jozi. Jax and i got our shopping fix & Rylee got a day at the zoo, which he loved!
Not so bad after all, travelling alone with a toddler. . . . where to next?!
