Decorex - Joburg - 2011 - Part 1

Hello friends. After an awesome i heart market on Saturday (thanks to everyone for their support), we headed for the airport to make our way to Jo burg, to see my sis.
Surprisingly, it wasn't that cold up there. It was sooo great to see my sister.

On Monday, we made our way to Gallagher Estate (after getting lost even though we had a garmin), to Decorex 2011.

All in all the show was average. I had been 2 years previous and thought it was way better then. There were a few roses amongst the thorns!

First off, the Decorex Designer Collection was great. The inspiration for the collection was summer entertaining. The look was about slowing down, enjoying the essential things in life, like spending time at home with family and friends.
The items are created by local ceramicists; Anthony Shapiro, Wendy McLachlan of Homebakes, Lisa Frier, Di Marshall of Wonki Ware, Zander van Niekerk and George van Gass. As well as textile mavens Design Team, Skinny laMinx and Kirsty and Jan Zoutendyk. And not to forget the master glassblowers of Ngwenya Glass.
All the items reflect the relaxed way we South Africans love to live and entertain. How can you not love their local-is-lekkerness?
