Lumiere Art + Co.

Emma Cleine is the brainchild of Lumiere Art + Co, a company in Australia that creates fun and colourful artworks and cushions.

"As Principal Director, Designer and Maker, Emma channels beauty through challenging conceptual work to create perfectly resolved, harmonious and functional pieces. Inspired by the likes of Rachel Whiteread, Cherry Hood, Kathryn Del Barton, Lisa Roet, Louise Bourgeois, Lucian Freud and Ah Xian, Emma’s pieces are reflective, sentimental and the unique product of a consummate artist."

Their Lace Mandala Series is one of my favourites. This series is a study of vintage lace, reinterpreted and relief printed as an image that represents home, intricacy and simplicity. Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". It is used to establish a sacred space and employed for focusing attention.

Each piece is editioned and printed individually using traditional techniques.
