"my childhood was the time when i was innocent
when the world seemed to be fair
when my universe was around my toys

my childhood was the time when i lived in dreams
when everyone was selfless
when everyone appeared to be a friend

my childhood was the time when my life was full of colours
when sorrows never knocked on my door
when a smile was a gift presented to everyone

my childhood was the time when love was pure
when there were no obligations
when tenderness prevailed

my childhood was the time which is long gone
tears flow from my eyes when i go back in my childhood
my childhood will never come back but
the child in me will never go"

Paddington Bear
R 75 - 00
size: 380mm h
The Story:  Paddington Bear is a fictional character in childrens literature. He appeared on 13 October 1958 and was subsequently featured in several books. The polite immigrant bear from Deepest, Darkest Peru, with his old hat, battered suitcase, duffle coat and love of marmalade sandwhiches has become a classic character from English childrens  literature.
Paddington is always polite—always addressing people as "Mr.", "Mrs." and "Miss" and very rarely by first names—and well-meaning, though he inflicts hard stares on those who incur his disapproval. He likes marmalade sandwiches and cocoa, and has an endless capacity for getting into trouble. However, he is known to "try so hard to get things right". He is an adoptive member of the (human) Brown family, and thus gives his full name as Paddington Brown.

Framed "Pollocks Rag Toys'' hand printed uncut pattern on cloth
R 785 - 00
size: 650mm x 590mm
The Story: Fabric Panel Stuffed DOLL Toy * Little Lizzie *

Pollocks Rag Toys 1967 - Maria Wood Des R C A

Pollock's Toy Museum resides in the UK in London.
R.C.A. are the initials for the Royal College of Art, in the UK.
So, it would seem that the designer of this Fabric Panel Art Doll - Maria Wood, was a Design Artist with a credential from the R.C.A.

LITTLE LIZZIE is printed on muslin fabric (there's some stiffener in the fabric) & she is styled with a Victorian or Edwardian look that leans to the MOD era in which she was created. There is a little Twiggy look about her (a very big fashion model of those days), too.

I fell in love with this rag doll pattern on fabric, when i spotted it. I have had it re-framed with a white timber box frame and think it would be perfect for a little girls bedroom.

"London: Pollock's Rag Toys, . Hand-printed piece of cloth with uncut patterns for very large rag dolls. The costume styles date from the early nineteenth century. This pattern, Little Lizzie, is a young girl dressed in a Regency-style empire dress in a blue and green floral print, trimmed with lace. Her gloved hands are tucked into a lacy muff, and she wears a flower-decorated straw hat, which ties with a blue ribbon under her chin.  Instructions for assembly are printed on the cloth. This piece is meant to be cut out, stitched together, and stuffed with rags."
